Home / About
An independent, family-run civil engineering contractor working out of Pomeroy, County Tyrone — on the tools and on the ground across Northern Ireland since 2013.
Our story
Hamill Civil Engineering Ltd was founded in 2013 by Darren Hamill on a simple idea: that road and groundwork should be done properly, by people who understand the ground they are working on. What began as a small local outfit has grown into a dependable civils contractor trusted to take on complete road and site schemes.
We remain a family-run business, and that shows in how we work. The director is on the jobs, the crews are directly employed, and the plant is our own. Clients deal with the people actually building the work — not a call centre — and that keeps decisions quick and standards high.
Over the years the scope has widened from access roads and yards to drainage, kerbing, car parks and full site infrastructure. What has not changed is the mindset: sound preparation, honest programmes and a finish we're happy to put our name to.
Since 2013
What we stand for
Everything rides on preparation. We take the time on formation, drainage and levels so the surface above has something to hold on to.
Clear programmes, realistic timescales and no surprises. If something needs flagging on site, we flag it early.
Our teams, our plant, our responsibility. We stay on a job until it is finished to the standard it is measured against.
Roads and sites are hazardous places. We plan the work, brief the crews and keep the public and our people safe.
Careful handling of materials, spoil and water, and tidy reinstatement that leaves a site better than we found it.
We build for the traffic a road will carry for years, not just the day it opens. Quality that stands up over time.

Who we work for
We take on work for a broad mix of clients, and we're comfortable as principal contractor or as a specialist package under a main contractor.
Give us the outline of your scheme and we'll tell you honestly how we'd approach it.
